Gerald L. Roelofs – Owner, Design/Sales

Jerry RoelofsJerry Roelofs began his construction career as a teen, doing rough framing and site work on houses constructed by his fathers company.  After joining the company full-time in 1978, he studied architectural design and drafting, becoming the company’s remodeling design/sales person.

In 1983, Jerry encouraged the company to change direction. Instead of building new homes, remodeling became the company’s primary focus, a decision they have never regretted.

Jerry has been active in the remodeling industry as:

  • local Chairman of the Remodelors’ Home Showcase
  • President of the Building Association of the Twin Cities – Remodelors’ Council
  • President of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry – Minnesota
  • and nationally as a speaker at the Remodelors’ Show and as a member of the editorial Board of Professional Remodeler magazine.

He also wrote a column for a local trade publication, The Builders’ Digest, for several years called “Slightly Out of Square” that earned him high praise.

Jerry lives in a home in Minnetonka with his wife, Linda, where they work on restoring a 100 year old schoolhouse originally built by Linda’s great-grandfather, taking short trips to search for antiques, and enjoying time with their children and grandson.

Asked what all his years with Roelofs Remodeling meant to him, Jerry said, “We get the privilege of being invited to work in, and sometimes make sweeping changes to, the most intimate spaces of our clients – their homes, their sanctuaries – the places where they live their lives.  We respect and honor our commitments to them. We build new spaces and relationships where the currency is trust. And we know that we can never separate the work that is done from the people who are doing it. Our people are our most important asset.”
